Over the last few years wedding styles and trends have changed enormously.

This could be due to a number of reasons, including the changes around covid.  For example, before the pandemic, you could only get married outdoors in England and Wales if your wedding venue had a licensed structure, like a pagoda or pavilion.

However, the pandemic saw this change, and it has become a permanent thing. You can now marry in any location outdoors at your venue, (as long as they have a license) and we’ve spoken to a lot more couples who love the idea of getting married in the great outdoors.  How fabulous! We can’t wait to work with brides and grooms who may wish to get married in their venues’ gardens, beautiful woodland or maybe they have a beach that could be used! This really does expand potential venue choices.

But what do we think is going to be all the rage in 2024 for weddings across the north west of England, Greater Manchester and Cheshire?  Well we’ve been considering this and these are our top five predictions:

  1. Sustainable weddings – There is a growing trend towards eco-friendly and sustainable weddings, with couples choosing to reduce their carbon footprint and minimize waste. This trend is likely to continue into 2024, with couples opting for more sustainable options such as recycled decor, locally sourced food and flowers, and zero-waste initiatives.

Let us help you here by hiring our reusable decorations, accessories and table & chair covers – you don’t need to purchase anything yourselves. We also have an amazing sustainable photobooth, that is made from cardboard, that you get to keep.  And it’s just as much fun!

  1. Intimate weddings: The COVID-19 pandemic definitely led to a rise in intimate weddings, with couples opting for smaller guest lists and more personal celebrations. This trend is definitely going to continue into 2024, with couples opting for smaller, more intimate weddings that focus on meaningful connections and experiences.

As a wedding stylist, I work with you personally to make sure we keep this intimate focus. I’ll keep you grounded and suggest beautiful decorations and touches that don’t break the bank balance and maintain personal touches in everything.

  1. Bold colours: bold and vibrant colours are likely to be a popular choice for wedding styling in 2024. 2023 has seen a rush of burnt orange requests and other really eye-catching colours. Couples may choose to incorporate bright, eye-catching hues into their decor, floral arrangements, and even their wedding attire.

We can help you to bring those colours out in chair coverings, balloons garlands, centre pieces and anywhere you feel will suit your theme perfectly.

  1. Non-traditional venues: couples are increasingly looking for non-traditional wedding venues that reflect their unique style and personality. This trend is likely to continue into 2024, with couples opting for unconventional venues such as industrial warehouses, rooftop terraces, or gardens. (Just remember your parent venue must have a license to be able to get married in the grounds outside).

This is where we come in. We can make sure your selected venue still feels incredibly special. If it’s a venue someone might question as a good wedding venue, we’ll help blown their minds when they attend your wedding!

  1. Personalisation: personalisation is a key trend in wedding styling, with couples looking for ways to infuse their personality and style into their wedding day. In 2024, we can expect to see more personalised elements such as monogrammed decor, custom cocktails, and unique favours that reflect the couple’s interests and passions.

We’re really excited about dressing a wedding that has asked for table centre pieces that represent something personal to the bride and groom over their relationship. One will be a refection of a trip to Thailand, another will be all about when their daughter was born and lots of other table dressings that mean something super special to them. I’m really excited about this wedding!

Overall, the wedding industry is constantly evolving, and it’s difficult to predict exactly what trends will be popular in 2024. However, these predictions are based on what I’m being asked for now and offer a glimpse into what I think we’ll see in the future.
